Desert Castles

Standing in the middle of the desert, the beautiful castles scattered in different places in the Jordanian desert testify the glorious history and extended civilization of the ancient. These great castles were built for several reasons. They were used as a kings refuge in war times, defensive military forts, and saviors for rains water. Being located on the pilgrimage and trading roads conveys used to pass by them to provide supplies and rest after the long travelling. Some of these castles:

Ajlun castle

The name came from old Laramie pronunciation of one of Moab's kings named Ajlun, who lived in the area before date.
