Location of the city and how to reach there?

 Petra the ancient city is hidden amidst nearly unfathomable mountains to the southern part of Jordan; it overlooks the eastern side of the awesome Wadi Arabah, 160 miles away from Amman the capital. It can be reached through the desert highway from  Amman to Ma'an, this trip is approximately three hours long. Another old road goes through Madaba, Karak and Shobak which is longer but at the same time more enjoyable, it enables you to spend few hours at the Karak castle.
