If you have explored all there is to see in Petra itself and you still have energy for more, you can head down to little Petra in Beidah, it is the wilderness area located to the north of Petra, contains a staggering number of archaeological sites, settlements believed to be one of man's oldest agricultural village, it may not be as quite as monumental as the main site in area but it is an important suburb of Petra and there is still much to see here. Beautiful landscape, and seasonally dotted with the black hair tents of Bedouin families.
