Hiking Dana Petra

Days

Day 1

Arrival in Amman: Meeting at Amman International Airport, and shift to hotel of choice. Overnight: spent at Amman.

Day 2

visit Dhana and its Spring, pass through very old olive trees, hike down to Wadi Dhana, continue hiking through a trail lined by Bedouins to Qussaib Spring, then move to Atta’ spring, after that walk to the great Valley of Dhana Natural Reserve which represents the end at Edge of the Wadi where you may rest in a beautiful green hotel constructed of mud. Cross afterwards to Wadi Araba, a Bedouin family waits to welcome you at a tent and offers you traditional dinner.

Day 3

hike down to the copper mines in Wadi Fainan, the oldest and biggest copper mines in the world in ancient time for a short visit, then continue to Wadi Ghwair, where a Jeep waits to take you in a tour in the valley. Camp near the oasis of palm trees and water falls for the night. Drive back to Wadi Namala, then will hike up to Petra Mountains. In the evening Jeeps take you back to the hotel at Petra to stay for the night.

Day 4

move back to amman for the departure flight.
